ARBOR DAY

It's our Arbor Day. So please don't cut down my tree. I grew that tree. So don't cut it down. How would you like it if I cut down your tree. I love Arbor day. Why don't you go home calmly and grow a tree for Arbor day?

Grandparents

Have you ever taken the time to think about grandparents and just how important they are?  Grandparents are special!  I believe this because they are like teachers, very wise and we learn from them.  I’m lucky to have a grandfather.

I have a great and loving grandfather.  I call him Pawpaw   He is 62 years old.  His name is Robert McAteer.  His hair has turned gray and unfortunately he has sugar diabetes from being sprayed by chemicals when he fought in Vietnam in 1970.  I live with my grandfather.  He is my guardian.  He does a lot for me.  He wakes me and my siblings up early in the morning for school.  I have two brothers and one sister.  They are all younger than me.   That is not easy.  My sister, Chellisa, does not like to get up.  She is a heavy sleeper and my 6 year old brother Robert he is tired in the morning and just wants to lay in Pawpaw’s lap.  Then while we are at school he goes shopping for groceries or anything we need.  When he comes back from shopping he splits all his change between us, for our banks.  As you can see, my Pawpaw loves and cares for us all.  Another thing I really love about my Pawpaw is that he tells me stories about his childhood.  He told me that his dad was very strict and his older brother got him in trouble.  He looks up to his father and he can be strict just like his dad was with him.  I learn a lot from him about life.

Also, there are many other things my grandfather taught me.  He taught me things like, how to write a thank you note and why that is important.  It helps me and my siblings learn what appreciation means.  He also taught me to blow on a Dandelion to make a wish, shuffling playing cards the cool way ( splitting the deck and fanning them together), and using tools in the garage.  Blowing Dandelions and shuffling cards are fun but learning how to use tools is useful in case a person wants to be a construction worker. Also now, I can fix a bike! I can fix things instead of calling someone to help.  So now you know a few of the things that grandparents can teach us and why grandparents are valuable.

Grandparents play a very important role in our lives and in the world.      Grandparents are special.  So let’s take the time and think about what we can do for them.  I only have one grandparent left, Robert McAteer.  I worry about his sugar diabetes and I need to take extra good care of him like he does of me.  If I had the time I could write a million pages about my Pawpaw. He is one in a million. My grandpa is amazing and I love him very much.

KC's Big Bad Week

Once upon a time there was a little girl named KC. She loved to sing. She sang songs about anything she could think about. She sang songs all day ad sometimes all night. She loved to sing songs and write songs about her life. KC was really talented. she had a voice of an angel and everyone knew it. Did you know that KC's parents are famous singers, too? Her mom's the country singer, Carrie Underwood and her dad is Luke Bryan. They help KC with a lot and KC knows a lot about singing and being on stage as she spends a lot of time with her mom and dad. She also knows a lot about being around a wide bunch of people on stage. KC feels upset when she does not sing and she feels happy when she does.

Dreams Crushed

KC was in the 5th grade and you know that in 5th grade they have chorus. so KC tried out for chorus and guess what, all that hard work paid off because she made it into chorus. So KC felt like a dream just came true so she made another dream and that was to make it to 5th grade all county chorus. KC was really happy as she wanted to be in all county and regular chorus so badly. KC thought that her whole life counted on being in both choruses. She went to try out for all county chorus on a Friday, but she wouldn't find out until Monday. She was singing all weekend nonstop because she was really nervous. Then Saturday went by and then Sunday. On Monday she found out that she did not make it into all county chorus. KC felt like the whole world had just ended. KC said she would never sing again. She also felt like she was not good enough to sing anymore. KC could not sleep that night because she felt like it was a nightmare that was forever long. She didn't know what to do. KC said that she was not going to let one thing mess up her whole life so she would make up a much better dream. Now KC is 19 and living a life being a famous singer that sings and writes songs about her life. Everyone is good at what they want to be. "Never switch from something you are really good at." Take this advice from a very famous singer, KC.
